Rutherford Place

Rutherford Place, located at 305 Second Avenue, is a historic building in Manhattan that has been transformed into a fashionable apartment complex. XCE was involved in multiple projects within the building, including designing a roof addition structure for the penthouse expansion and optimizing window wall openings for a double-story apartment. In addition, we designed and installed an outdoor roof terrace railing for one rooftop apartment to create an extra green living space and enhance the outdoor experience for residents. The design work involved a combination of steel, concrete, and lightweight metal stud design, utilizing the best materials and methods to achieve the architect's vision while meeting the owner's goals. Through our expertise in structural engineering, XCE was able to help preserve the building's historic charm while modernizing it for contemporary living.
